I'd be interested to know if others have better workflows too. It's a weird amount of work to have to do to get your music available in the app. The download everything in this playlist button on Music on the iPad rarely ever works.
Managing tags in Music on the Mac is a pain in the backside and doesn't always seem to actually save. Then I audition everything inside DJay, setting cue points and loop points for each track, and then add them to one or more playlists that I have set up inside DJay. It helps here to have a smart playlist that shows just stuff added today. I've ended up with a workflow (very Apple I'm afraid) where I import whatever I've just bought into Music on my Mac, fix up the tagging because it seems wherever you buy digital music it's often badly tagged up, wait for it all to sync to Apple Music, open Music on my iPad and download all the newly added stuff. I use DJay, and you're right, it's a phenomenal app but the music management leaves a bit to be desired. Is there an app that can bulk edit rename and tag MP3 files? At least I'd be bypassing iTunes syncing. You can scratch and slice a track, simultaneously apply filters and effects in real-time, create loops, precisely set cue points and trigger audio samples, all with the touch of a finger.

I've only had the app a few days.Ĭurrently I am using mp3s from my computer and I'm back using good old iTunes to create playlists and sync to my iPad - not my favourite hobby. There are so many options and I'm wondering if there is a better solution for non streaming mp3s than what I am doing. I'm just trying to get my head around a best workflow for managing my mp3 tracks in the music library. I'm blown away by how good it is it's an all round a pleasure to use, listen to and view.
